With over 25 years of experience in the hairdressing industry—19 of those at Hemisphere—Damien Kabay brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and leadership to the salon. Now co-owner for the past four years, Damien’s journey began with a passion for excellence that quickly earned him recognition, including the title of WA Junior Stylist of the Year during his apprenticeship with the International Hairdressing Society. This was just one of many national accolades he has received throughout his career.

After completing his training, Damien expanded his horizons in London, where he gained invaluable technical and customer service experience. He worked his way up to Art Director at a boutique salon and contributed to numerous fashion shows. He also reached the semi-finals of the prestigious L’Oréal Star Search competition.

Returning to Perth, Damien joined Hemisphere Hair and has never looked back. He has presented for L’Oréal Professionnel, earned his L’Oréal Colour Degree, and was selected for the elite L’Oréal ID Team—a program dedicated to nurturing emerging talent in the industry.

Following his two-year tenure with the ID Team, Damien continued to push creative boundaries, becoming a national finalist in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy for both cutting and colouring—twice.

In recent years, Damien has served as the State Fashion Director for Intercoiffure, an international hairdressing organisation. In this role, he coordinates and facilitates training across WA and nationally, a responsibility he finds deeply rewarding as it allows him to give back to the hairdressing community.

While Damien is highly skilled in all aspects of hairdressing, his true passion lies in cutting—especially short hair. He thrives on creating tailored, modern looks that reflect each client’s individuality. What he values most about Hemisphere is the strong team culture, where every client is welcomed like family and every stylist shares a commitment to excellence.
