Hemisphere hair have been nominated as WA State Finalists for the L’Oreal Colour Trophy in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Nick and Damien are proud that Hemisphere hair continually attracts some of Perths Best Hairdressers who want to be part of their Motivated and Creative team and who continue to deliver excellent skills and an enjoyable experience to their clients. Our aim is for the client to always walk out with their individual needs satisfied.
Nick Mammoliti
Nick has been hairdressing for 40 years and, in that time, has developed a reputation, not only in Perth but throughout Australia, as one of the leading hairdressers in the country. During his career, Nick has worked in some leading hair salons in the UK refining his artistic skills before returning to Perth where his reputation continued to flourish. Nick’s greatest achievement to date was opening Hemisphere hair 25 years ago and it has developed into one of the most desired salons within Australia. “This is where I can go to work in a friendly environment, with great staff and strive to make everyone that visits the salon feel and look amazing”.
Nick’s accolades consist of being nominated for WA Hairdresser of the Year. He has been State Finalist for the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy on 4 occasions and has featured in magazines over the years including Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire and countless industry publications. Due to his success, L’Oreal has invited Nick to educate hairdressers in Perth and throughout Australia to share his vision and skills with his peers.
Damien Kabay
Damien has been hairdressing for 25 years, with the last 19 of those at Hemisphere. He has been co-owner for four years, now. During his apprenticeship, Damien honed his craft by competing in the International Hairdressing Society awards, where he was WA Junior Stylist of the Year. Just one among many national awards that he has earned throughout his career.
Once he finished his training, Damien ventured to London to gain valuable technical and customer service experience. Whilst there, he worked at a boutique salon, working his way up to become an Art Director. He had the opportunity to work on many fashion shows and made it to the L’Oreal Star Search semi-finals.
Once back in Perth, he started at Hemisphere and has never looked back. He has presented for L’Oreal Professional, earned his L’Oreal Colour Degree, and had the privilege of being selected for the L’Oreal ID Team which nurtures up and coming artists in the industry.
Following his two-year stint on the ID Team, Damien focussed his talents on more prizes and has been a national finalist for L’Oreal Colour Trophy for both cutting and colouring. Twice.
Over the past two years he has been state fashion director for Intercoiffure which is an international hair organisation. His role is to facilitate and coordinate training in WA and nationally. He finds this very rewarding as he can give something back to the hairdressing community.
Although Damien has had extensive colour experience, his passion for cutting is where he really gets excited! Especially if his client sports short hair! One thing that Damien loves about Hemisphere is the team culture that resonates within every staff member. Whoever you see, as a client you will feel welcomed as part of the family5
